A man set himself on fire and was seen walking around near the White House on Wednesday. The incident took place at the Ellipse park, less than a mile away from the White House, in downtown Washington D.C. The man, who has not yet been identified, suffered 85 percent burns before police could extinguish the flames. The video of the incident has been going viral on social media.
In the video, the man can be seen walking calmly inside the Ellipse park, near Washington Mall, with flames engulfing his body. Seconds later, an official of US Secret Service arrives with a fire extinguisher to douse the flames. US President Donald Trump was in the Oval Office when the man set himself on fire. His motive remains unknown. He was later transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
